Fuel Attendant

Overview

The Fuel Attendant supports bakery operations by managing fuel for delivery vehicles, generators, and other equipment. The job focuses on safe fuel handling, precise logging of fuel activity, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently refuel bakery trucks, vans, and equipment.
• Track fuel tank levels and help maintain storage facilities.
• Maintain clear and accurate logs of fuel consumption, incoming deliveries, and stock on hand.
• Check vehicles and equipment before and after refuelling for leaks or other safety risks.
• Keep the fuelling area and nearby spaces tidy and hazard-free.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules at all times.
• Escalate fuel shortages, equipment faults, or safety concerns to the relevant manager.
• Support simple vehicle checks such as oil, water, and tyre pressure when needed.
• Work with suppliers while fuel is being delivered.

Qualifications

Matric is required. Experience in fuel handling, warehouse work, logistics, or a comparable role is considered beneficial. The position also calls for a solid understanding of basic fuel storage and handling safety practices, the ability to keep accurate records, physical fitness for standing for long periods, and a dependable, detail-oriented approach.
