Role Overview
The Front Office Services (FOS) team operates at the interface of investments, operations, technology, and change within the Investment Management COO Office. This Business Analyst role requires experience with front-office and investment platforms, supporting complex change projects especially involving the Aladdin system. It involves close collaboration with global stakeholders across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted partner to Front Office, Investment Operations, Risk, and Technology teams.
- Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements for investment platform initiatives ensuring clear alignment with business goals.
- Assist in delivery and enhancement of platforms like Aladdin, covering impacts on positions, valuations, reconciliations, analytics, data quality, and workflows.
- Advocate for Front Office needs, ensuring they are accurately incorporated into solution designs and vendor outputs.
- Lead workshops and design sessions to promote shared understanding and consensus.
- Translate intricate business challenges into clear actionable elements and pragmatic solutions.
- Collaborate with project management and delivery teams to balance business priorities against execution constraints.
- Support testing, training, and adoption tasks, including UAT design and readiness activities.
- Maintain core project documents such as process maps, requirements logs, issue trackers, and executive updates.
- Engage with stakeholders globally including Australia, UK, US, and Asia as needed.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 6 years experience as a Business Analyst in asset management, investment, or financial services sectors.
- Proven experience supporting front-office facing investment teams.
- Strong familiarity preferably with Aladdin platform and the entire front-to-back investment workflow.
- Skillful in eliciting, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements.
- Experience navigating complex matrixed environments collaborating across multiple functions.
- Strong analytical abilities to identify core issues and develop practical responses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed organizational skills to handle competing priorities effectively.
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to other investment platforms such as Charles River OMS.
- Background in supporting platform implementations or transformation projects.
- Understanding of middle- and back-office investment operation processes.
- Experience with data analysis involving large datasets and writing user stories.
- Proficiency in SQL or data querying.
- Familiarity with delivery and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
Additional Information
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not include management duties.
