Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and dependable Front of House Assistant to contribute to delivering excellent food service within St Andrew's College, Cambridge. This part-time role involves working weekends, specifically 16 hours across Saturdays and Sundays, to assist with catering operations ensuring nutritious meals are served with professionalism and care.

Key Duties

  • Assist in food preparation, presentation, and service to maintain high standards
  • Keep kitchen and service areas clean and hygienic continuously
  • Help with accurate food labeling, temperature monitoring, and strict allergen control measures
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors
  • Prepare and clear service locations for smooth operational flow
  • Adhere to food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding policies
  • Participate in hospitality events and occasional functions held outside usual hours
  • Take ownership of following and promoting allergen safety procedures

Candidate Profile

  • Experience preferred in contract or high-volume catering environments
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety practices
  • Demonstrates flexibility, positive attitude, and strong customer focus
  • Enjoyment in working as part of a team with enthusiasm
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attentiveness to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Adaptability in work schedule and responsibilities
