About Sunlight Society
Sunlight Society is a rapidly expanding women's wellness and social community based in London, boasting over 1,000 members. It offers approachable and beginner-friendly activities such as hiking, Pilates, strength training, ballet, foraging, picnics, and relaxed social gatherings. The community aims to foster genuine friendships and make movement accessible, especially for women attending solo. Collaborations with wellness, food, drink, activewear, and lifestyle brands take place through event sponsorship, sampling, and social media content.
Role Overview
Sunlight Society seeks a creative, dependable Freelance Social Media & Content Creator to energize its online presence. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the founder to produce engaging content about upcoming events, community stories, event summaries, and partnerships. Instagram will be the main platform, with content adapted thoughtfully for Facebook and LinkedIn. This flexible freelance position is mostly remote but requires residency near London and availability for select events.
Key Duties
- Establish and update a straightforward, steady content calendar.
- Produce Instagram Reels, carousels, Stories, and event promotions.
- Attend specific London-based events to gather compelling photo and video materials.
- Edit short videos using software like CapCut, Canva, or Adobe.
- Create prompt event recap posts from footage.
- Customize Instagram content for Facebook and LinkedIn audiences, shifting tone and messaging as needed.
- Craft warm and appealing captions aligned with the community's voice.
- Generate content for brand collaborations and fulfill related deliverables.
- Spot relevant trends, formats, and ideas rooted in community engagement.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the existing content repository.
- Track content performance metrics and suggest practical improvements to increase engagement, reach, and event attendance.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience creating social media content for brands, communities, or personal platforms.
- Confidence filming and editing vertical short-form videos.
- Understanding of effective content strategies across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Strong visual sensibility to work within established brand styles.
- Ability to write clear, friendly copy without sounding overly formal.
- Organized, responsive, and capable of working independently.
- Skilled at capturing authentic community moments without discomforting members.
- Based in or close to London with flexibility to attend weekend and evening events.
Experience in wellness, fitness, lifestyle, hospitality, or community-focused brands is an advantage but not mandatory.
