About the Role
Batangarh is an emerging independent news platform dedicated to fearless, community-oriented journalism. We seek energetic Freelance News Reporters across India to produce compelling, authentic stories focused on local issues, citizen grievances, and everyday challenges through street-level reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Spot and report on significant local civic problems.
- Conduct interviews with ordinary people in public areas like streets, markets, and neighborhoods.
- Capture honest opinions, experiences, and suggestions from the public.
- Create comprehensive video reports around 8–10 minutes featuring 7–8 public interview clips.
- Ensure clear audiovisual quality, secure verbal consent as needed, and maintain balanced factual reporting.
- All reporting and interviews are to be conducted in Hindi.
Candidate Requirements
- Currently pursuing or completed graduation in Mass Communication.
- Own a smartphone or basic camera capable of recording good-quality videos.
- Confidence in approaching and respectfully interviewing strangers.
- Passion for genuine, unbiased storytelling; prior experience not mandatory.
- Good communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits

Additional Information
- Position is freelance and remote, allowing reporters to work from their own city.
- Videos should have a minimum duration of 8–10 minutes featuring multiple public opinions.
