Role overview
This position is centered on helping shoppers discover fragrances that suit their preferences by explaining scent notes, concentration levels, layering approaches, and the stories behind each brand. It is a customer-facing role focused on elevating the shopping experience through expert guidance, polished service, and strong selling skills across niche, designer, and artisanal fragrance collections. The role contributes to category growth and repeat business by turning fragrance discovery into a memorable, personalized experience.
Key responsibilities
The role combines consultation, sales performance, product education, and in-store standards.
- Provide tailored fragrance consultations by learning each customer’s tastes, personality, and the occasions they are shopping for.
- Explain fragrance layering, usage methods, and how to build a versatile fragrance wardrobe.
- Create individualized scent recommendations through profiling and layering guidance.
- Deliver the brand experience with premium etiquette and a refined consultation style.
- Work toward individual performance measures such as sales goals, conversion, UPT, ATV, and contribution to the fragrance category.
- Highlight new launches, niche scents, exclusives, and higher-value products.
- Identify cross-sell opportunities across fragrance, body care, gifts, and related items.
- Share customer and category insights with store leadership to support better replenishment, assortment planning, and overall category performance.
- Build strong knowledge of fragrance houses, perfumers, scent structures, and brand narratives.
- Demonstrate products using proper blotter handling, structured presentation, and professional sampling methods.
- Keep current with international fragrance trends, seasonal scent directions, and upcoming product releases.
- Lead fragrance demonstrations, short education sessions, and customer or team learning on the sales floor.
- Maintain high standards for tester cleanliness, blotter arrangement, and fragrance bay presentation.
- Ensure testers are cleaned, organized, restocked, and displayed in line with visual merchandising standards.
- Support stock counts, expiry monitoring, replenishment, and movement of category inventory.
- Assist with storytelling areas, gifting displays, and visual merchandising updates.
Experience required
- 2 to 5 years of experience in beauty retail, fragrance consulting, or luxury perfume environments.
- Hands-on understanding of fragrance notes, accords, perfume concentration types, and scent families.
- Strong communication, consultation, and customer engagement abilities.
- Prior experience in a multi-brand beauty retail setting is required.
- Willingness to keep learning about new launches, product knowledge, selling methods, and evolving scent trends.
- Ability to independently learn, build expertise, and stay aligned with industry and brand developments.
- Comfort in turning fragrance stories into personalized and engaging product recommendations.
- Very high grooming standards suited to a premium beauty and luxury fragrance setting.
- Sales-oriented mindset with a consistent record of meeting or surpassing targets.
- Ability to perform well in a busy retail environment with frequent launches and strong customer flow.
- Genuine enthusiasm for perfumery, niche fragrances, and experiential retail.
Work environment
This is an on-site full-time role based in Doha, Qatar.
