Role Overview

This pivotal, hands-on position is central to the creative fragrance development process. The Fragrance Evaluator serves as the primary creative guide, leveraging extensive olfactory expertise to steer the development of marketable fragrances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate daily with perfumers, serving as their main creative advisor to help secure successful project briefs.
  • Conduct detailed evaluations of new fragrance submissions, delivering precise, actionable, and constructive sensory feedback.
  • Analyze client briefs thoroughly to grasp all technical and creative needs.
  • Propose innovative fragrance concepts and suggest adjustments to align creations with project objectives.
  • Work closely with the Application Lab to test and optimize fragrance performance in final product formulations.
  • Maintain the fragrance library and monitor regional trends by analyzing new product launches across markets.

Team Environment

The role functions within a dynamic and passionate team comprising Perfumers, Creative Fragrance Managers, and Lab Technicians. The workplace culture emphasizes curiosity, precision, and collaboration, valuing in-depth scent knowledge and market insight as critical elements in project success.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline is highly preferred.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a fragrance evaluator within a fragrance house.
  • An expertly trained and discerning sense of smell is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fragrance families, raw materials, and olfactory language.
  • Awareness of market trends and key products, ideally within the regional market.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex scent ideas and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and project management skills to handle multiple timelines effectively.
