Role Overview
This full-time, on-site Food Service Worker role at a school cafeteria in Naples, FL is focused on helping prepare and serve meals in a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment. The position suits someone who is dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable supporting students, staff, and the wider school community.
What You Will Do
- Prepare and portion menu items in line with recipes, production records, and food safety requirements.
- Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors in a polite and professional way.
- Keep kitchen and serving spaces sanitary, organized, and safe throughout the day.
- Replenish service areas such as serving lines, salad bars, and milk coolers.
- Store food correctly, rotate inventory properly, and follow sanitation practices.
- Help receive deliveries, put supplies away, and arrange inventory.
- Sweep floors, mop surfaces, and remove trash when needed.
- Support coworkers, step in during staffing gaps, and help cover shifts when required.
- Complete reports and other assigned tasks by the required deadlines.
- Perform any additional duties needed to keep the kitchen and meal program running smoothly.
Qualifications
Prior experience in food service or cleaning is helpful, though not mandatory. Candidates should bring a solid work ethic, the ability to cooperate with others, comfort with routine and repetitive work, and basic math and computer skills. A background check and fingerprint screening are required. Reliable transportation is also necessary. The role is best suited to someone who is comfortable working around children and contributing to a school-based environment while remaining respectful, inclusive, and professional.
Work Conditions
This position involves standing for an entire shift, frequent bending, reaching, walking, and regular use of the hands. The work environment can be fast-paced, with moderate kitchen noise and continuous movement. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
Schedule
The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, full time, with occasional extended weeks. Participation in company events or meetings may also be required.
