Role overview

This full-time position is based at a school cafeteria in Clermont, Florida. The Food Service Worker helps prepare and serve meals for students and staff while keeping the kitchen and serving areas clean, organized, and safe. The job is a good fit for someone dependable, comfortable working with others, and interested in supporting a school community.

What you will do

  • Prepare and portion food in line with recipes, production records, and food safety rules.
  • Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors in a polite and professional manner.
  • Keep the kitchen, serving line, and dining support areas sanitary and well maintained.
  • Restock salad bars, milk coolers, and other serving stations as needed.
  • Follow correct procedures for storing, rotating, and handling food.
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and arranging inventory.
  • Sweep, mop, remove trash, and support general cleanup tasks.
  • Work according to local, state, federal, and company health and sanitation requirements.
  • Help teammates, fill in for shifts when needed, and support smooth daily operations.
  • Complete assigned reports and meet required deadlines.
  • Take on other duties that help the kitchen team and school meal program run effectively.

What we are looking for

Applicants should have a strong work ethic, be comfortable with repetitive tasks, and be able to follow routines reliably. Prior experience in food service or cleaning is helpful but not required. You should also be comfortable working with basic math and computer tasks, be respectful and inclusive with coworkers and customers, and enjoy working around children in a school environment.

Physical and work conditions

This role requires standing for an entire shift and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. The work involves regular bending, reaching, walking, and frequent use of the hands. The setting can be moderately noisy, fast-paced, and requires steady movement throughout the day. The schedule is Monday through Friday, full time, with occasional longer weeks. Participation in company events or meetings may also be expected.
