About the Role

Join our team as a Food Service Worker and contribute to a meaningful daily mission by preparing and serving meals in a secure, hygienic, and welcoming setting. This full-time position is well-suited for individuals new to the food service industry or those with prior experience, emphasizing dependability, teamwork, and a desire to support the school community. You will play a vital role in the daily operations of our school cafeteria, ensuring efficient and positive dining experiences for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food items in compliance with established recipes, production logs, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety throughout the kitchen and service areas.
  • Replenish serving lines, salad bars, and beverage stations to ensure availability.
  • Adhere to all guidelines for proper food storage, stock rotation, and sanitation practices.
  • Provide courteous and efficient meal service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries and inventory management.
  • Perform regular cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Offer support to colleagues and be prepared to cover shifts as needed to maintain operational flow.
  • Complete required reports and meet all assigned deadlines.
  • Undertake additional tasks to support the kitchen team and the school meal program effectively.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in food preparation or cleaning roles is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Capacity to perform routine tasks and follow established procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in mathematics and computer applications.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and fingerprint screening.
  • Reliable personal transportation is essential for this role.
  • A genuine enjoyment of working with children and contributing to a school environment.
  • Professional, respectful, and inclusive demeanor towards all colleagues and customers.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to remain standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Involves regular bending, reaching, walking, and manual dexterity.
  • Work environment includes moderate kitchen noise and constant movement in a fast-paced setting.
  • The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, with potential for occasional extended weeks.
  • May be required to attend company events or meetings.
