Role Overview
The Food Service Worker/Barista is tasked with preparing and cooking food, ensuring cleanliness, organizing stock, and delivering excellent customer interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation duties such as crafting fruit cups, managing the salad bar, and replenishing food inventory.
- Engage customers professionally by providing exceptional service, answering queries, and addressing feedback or complaints promptly.
- Handle cash and payments accurately by registering sales, managing cash, cards, and vouchers, issuing receipts, making change, and reconciling the cash drawer at shift end.
- Foster a supportive and positive team atmosphere, recognizing achievements, monitoring morale, and maintaining composure during busy or unexpected situations.
- Organize, stock, and rotate merchandise and grab-and-go products during shifts to enhance sales, adhering to placement protocols.
- Uphold safety and cleanliness by following health and sanitation procedures, cleaning and sanitizing workspaces and seating areas, and performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of one year experience in food service, with a preference for strong food preparation skills.
- Proficient knowledge of food and beverage production techniques and equipment for preparation, serving, storage, and handling.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and handling monetary transactions precisely.
- Capability to influence purchasing decisions through suggestive selling.
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service in public-facing roles.
