Job overview
This role supports food preparation, presentation, and meal service while maintaining high standards for food quality and visual appeal at the Brantford, Ontario location.
Key duties
- Carry out basic kitchen preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
- Move pans, kettles, and trays between work areas, ovens, and refrigerators while following safety practices.
- Keep food stored in the proper locations and follow wrapping, dating, rotation, and food safety procedures.
- Prepare merchandise and service items for daily sale or service.
- Handle routine cleaning tasks and dispose of waste in the appropriate areas.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
- Follow approved recipes and production standards to maintain food quality, correct temperatures, and portion control; alert cooks if food is outside safe temperature limits.
- Serve guests courteously and efficiently in line with established service procedures.
- Address customer issues and pass important information to the supervisor.
- Maintain sanitation and safety compliance at all times.
- Support retail service areas, including cashier duties and line service.
Qualifications and abilities
Candidates are expected to bring strong organization, time management, communication, and physical stamina for a busy food service environment. The work may be performed independently or as part of a team, and the ability to follow written and spoken instructions is important. Prior experience in healthcare, hospitality, restaurant, or fast-food environments is an advantage. FoodSafe Level 1 certification and cash register familiarity are helpful but not mandatory.
