Food Counter Attendant

Job Overview

This is a permanent full-time position based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, requiring 20 to 40 hours of work weekly, conducted in English.

Primary Duties

• Maintain cleanliness by clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs.
• Hand wash and sanitize dishes and other items.
• Track the quantity of food consumed during shifts.
• Wrap and package take-out orders efficiently.
• Portion food servings and wrap them securely.
• Prepare, heat, and complete simple food items as required.
• Attend to customers by taking orders and serving at counters or buffet setups.
• Stock refrigerators and salad bars regularly.
• Operate manual and electric kitchen appliances to prepare food by cleaning, peeling, slicing, and trimming.
• Clean kitchen areas comprehensively, including surfaces, cupboards, storage spaces, appliances, and equipment.
• Manage and safely handle cleaning agents and products.
• Receive, unpack, and properly store incoming supplies in designated storage locations like refrigerators and freezers.
• Dispose of kitchen waste effectively and maintain cleanliness.
• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish all kitchen and dining area floors.
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits.

Required Certifications and Skills

• Food Safety Certification is mandatory.
• Client-focused attitude and excellent oral communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to work reliably within a team.
• Able to multitask and show initiative with a positive outlook.

Additional Employment Details

• Shift options include morning, evening, day, weekend, and on-call duty.
