Job description

Role Overview

Join the Australian Turf Club's Hospitality & Events team as a Food & Beverage waiter during the exhilarating Spring Carnival season at Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens. This casual, temporary position requires delivering outstanding service to guests attending large-scale functions, events, and dining experiences in either brasseries or a la carte restaurants. It is a fast-paced, lively environment where energetic and experienced waitstaff thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional hospitality and guest service at busy race days and events.
  • Serve guests efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and etiquette.
  • Set tables, manage wine service, handle multiple plates adeptly, and clear tables promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to enhance guest experiences.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Must possess a current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • Proven experience working in large-scale functions or restaurant settings.
  • Strong service skills including table setting and efficient plate handling.
  • Excellent communication abilities and a courteous, professional demeanor with guests.
  • Quick learner with attention to grooming and presentation standards.
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Shift Details & Dates

Casual shifts available starting from August, with a requirement to be available for at least five Saturday day shifts during the following race days:

  • 19 September – Royal Randwick
  • 26 September – Rosehill Gardens
  • 3 October – Royal Randwick
  • 10 October – Rosehill Gardens
  • 17 October – Royal Randwick
  • 24 October – Royal Randwick
  • 31 October – Rosehill Gardens
  • 3 November (Tuesday) – Royal Randwick
  • 7 November – Rosehill Gardens
