Overview
Situated centrally in Wellington's Central Business District, the hotel offers 139 well-appointed guest rooms featuring modern decor and spectacular views of the Harbour. It caters to families, executives, business travelers, and leisure groups. The venue includes a contemporary boardroom providing a discreet and convenient meeting location.
Role Summary
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will create meaningful experiences for guests by ensuring their dining is memorable. The position involves varied shifts covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner services. You will collaborate with the Food and Beverage team to deliver smooth and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly and professionally welcome guests upon arrival.
- Accurately and efficiently take food and drink orders.
- Serve food and beverages promptly to tables.
- Maintain clean dining spaces by clearing and resetting tables.
- Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints attentively.
- Handle payment transactions through POS systems, including cash and card payments.
- Replenish supplies and keep service stations organized.
- Adhere strictly to hygiene, safety, and food handling standards.
- Work cooperatively alongside team members.
- Prepare and dismantle service areas as needed.
- Communicate guest dietary needs or concerns to the kitchen staff.
- Complete daily cleaning duties and closing checklists.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible seven-day rotating roster, with shifts beginning as early as 6:00 am and finishing late.
- Prior experience in food and beverage, barista, bar, or hotel service roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Positive and professional demeanor with a passion for hospitality and guest service excellence.
- Comfortable operating coffee machines or performing bar duties; training available.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management abilities.
- Physically able to stand for long durations and handle light lifting.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand through citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa; visa sponsorship not provided.
Compensation and Schedule
This part-time role offers a wage of $25.42 per hour, involving a rotation over a week with varied shifts.
