Role Overview
The Food and Beverage Assistant plays a vital role in delivering superior service at the estate's dining venues. This position focuses on providing attentive, efficient, and professional assistance that enhances the overall guest experience and upholds the estate's high standards of hospitality. The assistant contributes to operational preparedness, guest interaction, and maintaining a polished dining atmosphere alongside the front-of-house team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Offer courteous, personalized, and warm service throughout all guest interactions.
- Present menus clearly and confidently while guiding guests through available offerings.
- Engage proactively with guests, anticipating their needs to foster an enjoyable dining experience.
- Respond to guest requests swiftly, involving supervisors when necessary.
- Assist in preparing tables, managing service flow, and clearing as per service protocols.
- Support food and beverage delivery ensuring accuracy, timely service, and appealing presentation.
- Keep dining spaces clean, welcoming, and fully prepared during service periods.
- Help replenish service stations, linens, and necessary supplies.
- Contribute to reservation management and seating coordination, liaising with the front desk as required.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service transitions.
- Adhere strictly to daily checklists, standard operating procedures, and operational requirements for consistent service quality.
- Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and allergen awareness standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of service etiquette and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
- Ensure all service equipment and areas meet hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Work closely with supervisors and managers to align with service priorities.
- Attend pre-service briefings to stay updated on specials, menu modifications, and critical service notes.
- Support team members to maintain a cooperative and high-performing work environment.
Required Experience and Skills
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication abilities combined with a positive, guest-oriented approach.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-moving, service-focused setting.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to upholding service standards.
- Enthusiasm for learning, accepting guidance, and growing within the food and beverage department.
- Eligibility to legally work in Ireland is essential.
