About the Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia is looking for a skilled Flight Scheduler to be an integral part of the AH-64 Apache helicopter sustainment and support team based in Townsville, Queensland. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to establishing operational structures for Australia's advanced attack helicopter fleet, joining over 1200 aircraft in 18 allied countries. The position is ideal for proactive professionals experienced in Defence flying squadron operations, eager to take on scheduling and programming responsibilities within a vital national defence capability.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead development of operational procedures and scheduling protocols to ensure smooth transition to full operational readiness.
- Oversee day-to-day management and coordination of flight programs and administrative reporting at the School of Army Aviation.
- Handle the training information system, crafting short and medium-term flying training plans while synchronizing various program components to avoid conflicts.
- Conduct risk assessments for flight schedules, adjust plans as needed, and prepare documentation to justify any changes or address delays.
- Support database management for the Patriot Excalibur (PEX) system utilized by the operations team.
- Operate autonomously within a dynamic operations cell, delivering quality services that support flying operations.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least three years of experience in flight operations support and program scheduling.
- Proven ability to implement improvements in scheduling processes and productivity.
- Experience with the FlightPro software suite.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with business units, customers, and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Patriot Excalibur (PEX), Sentinel, PMKeyS, and Objective planning, scheduling, and reporting tools.
- Previous experience working in a Defence environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
