Role overview
This position is responsible for securing aircraft spares and tools, while also overseeing the repair cycle for components in the most cost-effective way possible. A key objective is to keep parts available so maintenance teams can support aircraft operations without delay.
Key responsibilities
- Assess supplier quotations and negotiate for the most favourable price and turnaround time, ensuring strong value in purchase or repair decisions.
- Track requisitions for aircraft materials that are under escalation and check the supporting technical documentation carefully.
- Keep a daily watch on unserviceable inventory and act quickly to return items to service whenever possible.
- Validate purchase orders and scrap notes raised by buyers according to policy, use the correct system steps and budget codes, and circulate weekly updates to the relevant teams for overdue approvals.
- Push pending orders forward, follow up on shipments for MDD and other critical parts, and share delivery updates with customers as needed; overdue orders must remain below 5%.
- Make sure only authorised vendors are engaged and evaluate supplier performance against contractual requirements or internal criteria; involve the Vendor Performance Team when needed.
- Search the open market to support needs for advance exchanges and loaner parts.
- Track outstanding loan and exchange orders and ensure they are closed without unnecessary delay.
- During AOG situations at base, review supply chain feedback and support fulfilment or backup options for urgent recovery.
- Take ownership of quarantined parts resolution by coordinating with suppliers and stores so that SDR cases are closed within 10 days.
- Work with the SC Trax invoice team, finance, and vendors to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies that arise during procurement.
- Prepare reports, data analysis, benchmarking material, and presentations when requested by senior leadership or management.
- Keep ERP data accurate and maintain important system parameters.
- Support the team in meeting KPIs and manage team activities toward target achievement.
- Promote continuous improvement, share best practices, and help train new employees.
- Carry out additional duties connected to the role as assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications and experience
Applicants should have either a high school qualification, vocational qualification, diploma, or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant work experience, or a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant work experience. The role also calls for aviation supply chain experience, including at least 3 years in aircraft material purchasing or rotable management.
Candidates should be able to understand technical aircraft publications and documentation such as OEM RSPL, ATA chapters, vendor manuals, IPC, CMM, CMA, EO, ESWC, SB, VSB, and OEM/supplier references. A supply chain qualification such as CIPS is preferred, along with Lean training. Strong analytical ability, detailed ERP knowledge, and the capability to interpret contracts are also important.
