Job description
Role Overview
Ventia, working alongside the Australian Defence Force, is looking for a dependable and experienced Fitness Centre Attendant and Lifeguard to support the Albury Wodonga Military Area. The position is based at the Defence site in Bandiana and combines pool supervision with general fitness centre support.
What This Role Involves
This is a permanent full-time opportunity for a qualified lifeguard who can help keep the aquatic facility safe while also supporting the upkeep and smooth running of the gym area. The role suits someone who takes water safety seriously and is comfortable working in a Defence environment.
Key Duties
- Keep watch over swimmers and visitors to maintain a safe environment and ensure site rules are followed.
- Act quickly in emergencies and carry out rescues when needed.
- Handle the opening and closing of the facility according to rostered hours.
- Explain water safety practices and facility rules to users.
- Oversee gym users and provide sporting equipment for use.
- Support military physical training instructors by setting up before PT sessions and packing away afterward.
- Make sure safety procedures are observed and equipment is used appropriately.
- Follow Ventia’s SHEQ requirements and help build a strong safety-focused workplace culture.
