Role Overview
This position sits within a premium fitness environment and focuses on delivering attentive, polished service to guests from the moment they arrive until they leave. The role blends guest interaction, day-to-day club operations, cleanliness standards, and support for wellness services in a luxury hospitality setting.
Operational Duties
- Welcome guests on arrival and offer a warm, professional farewell when they depart.
- Greet every guest quickly and politely, maintaining eye contact and a friendly smile.
- Interact with visitors across the Fitness Club, including the gym, and introduce available fitness services and facilities to improve their overall experience.
- Offer refreshments such as water and towels whenever guests need them.
- Support guests who would like assistance connecting with personal trainers.
- Handle guest comments or concerns promptly and take suitable action to improve the experience.
- Step in to support the team during busy periods and break times.
- Recommend personal training or suitable fitness and wellness programmes available across the integrated resort, based on guest interests, and assist with follow-up bookings or arrangements.
- Attend daily briefings and share in updates on fitness activities and property-related information.
Team and Service Standards
- Consistently reflect the organisation’s values and mission in daily work.
- Maintain a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner with guests, patrons, and colleagues at all times.
- Work with a proactive, positive attitude and contribute effectively to the team.
- Build working knowledge of the Fitness Centre, the property, key events, and current happenings both on-site and in the city.
- Keep learning about fitness, yoga, and other wellness activities or programmes.
- Follow the hotel’s accounting procedures for any cashiering-related tasks.
- Keep the Fitness Centre and surrounding areas clean, orderly, and presentable.
- Check changing rooms regularly to ensure facilities are clean, functional, and in proper condition.
- Ensure towels, linens, and other amenities are fully stocked, and remove used items appropriately.
- Collect fresh laundered towels and linens and send used items to and from the Laundry Department as needed.
- Learn to operate cardio and strength equipment at a basic level when required.
- Open and close the Fitness Centre according to management-approved timings.
- Carry out similar professional tasks requested by the Fitness Centre Manager or other management representatives.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a secondary school education, prior exposure to a professional work environment, and preferably experience in customer service, hospitality, tourism, or another service-related field. Strong spoken and written English is important for clear communication with guests. Candidates should present themselves with high standards of grooming and professional appearance, remain energetic and engaging, and bring excellent interpersonal, guest relations, and communication skills. Attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-moving luxury environment, and a collaborative, initiative-driven approach are essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Outlook is required, while basic cashiering and POS knowledge is preferred but not compulsory. The role also requires willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
