First Officer (Non Type Rated)

Main Objective of Role

The First Officer acts as the second-in-command, supporting the Captain by carrying out assigned duties, following instructions, and sharing responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft. This role contributes to the safety and welfare of the crew, passengers, cargo, and equipment, demonstrating integrity, leadership, and professionalism while maintaining the highest operational standards and making ethical and sound decisions during normal and emergency situations under the Captain's authority.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Captain in ensuring ultimate accountability for the safety of the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo, adhering to UAE GCAA and international aviation regulations, flydubai policies, and industry standards.
• Carry out delegated flight-related tasks in accordance with company policies, aviation regulations, and safety protocols, promoting professionalism and teamwork through effective leadership and Crew Resource Management (CRM).
• Perform all duties with accuracy and professionalism, following flydubai's Operations Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and policies to maintain compliance and operational integrity; suggest alternatives when necessary using CRM principles.
• Continuously monitor aircraft systems, flight performance, and navigation; promptly detect and address abnormalities; ensure adherence to flight plans; document and report safety incidents, SOP violations, and operational discrepancies accurately and timely according to regulations and company requirements.
• Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections to confirm the readiness of emergency systems and flight deck equipment; share responsibility for the aircraft and operations from boarding to shutdown; supervise fuel and loading activities; notify the Captain immediately of any anomalies.
• Assist the Captain with crew responsibilities from reporting for duty at the base in Dubai; provide support during outstation stops and layovers; contribute to safely and efficiently managing all return flight tasks until completion upon returning to Dubai.
• Support the Captain, who holds full accountability for all operational decisions and flight conduct, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Uphold flydubai’s brand image by maintaining professionalism, discipline, and appearance on duty and in public; help ensure crew compliance with corporate standards; report deviations through proper channels.
• Execute all flight tasks in line with flydubai’s commercial goals, balancing operational efficiency with safety and regulatory compliance to support the airline's mission while maintaining aviation excellence.
• Stay updated on UAE GCAA and international aviation laws, operational standards, and best industry practices; proactively apply this knowledge to ensure regulatory compliance and procedural alignment with evolving standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Fluent English communication skills
• Minimum total flight experience of 2,500 hours
• At least 1,000 hours on modern (EFIS) multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft over 10 tonnes maximum takeoff weight (preferably with pilot-in-command experience)
• Minimum of 1,500 hours on Multi-Pilot Aircraft (MPA)
• ICAO English Language Proficiency at Level 4 or higher
• Unrestricted Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate from an ICAO-compliant authority
• ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)

Information Security Requirements

Candidates must adhere to company Information Security policies, report any vulnerabilities or incidents to managers or the Information Security team, complete all ISR awareness training, and follow guidelines in daily duties.
