First Officer, IFR (Oil & Gas)

Position Location

This role is based in the Gulf of Mexico Pool, operating from Galveston, TX.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Pilot and Operations Manager, the First Officer is entrusted with operating the aircraft in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company-specific manuals to guarantee the safety and efficiency of flights for customers. The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility and authority over the aircraft's operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to FAA regulations, the Operations Manual, and relevant state, local, or international aviation regulations, applying the strictest rules when conflicts arise unless otherwise authorized.
• Operate aircraft safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company manuals, aircraft flight instructions, and customer needs.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the Operations Manual.
• Submit all required documentation, such as Occurrence Reports, Injury Reports, Flight Sheets, and Manifests, accurately and timely before the end of each workday.
• Accept duty assignments only when complying with Flight and Duty Time regulations and when rested and medically fit.
• Maintain detailed flight records consistent with CFR standards.
• Notify the Program/Operations Manager promptly of any major malfunctions, damage, or personnel injuries.
• Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while representing the company.
• Collaborate with customers to provide courteous, reliable, and safe service.
• Comply with any additional duties assigned by supervisors and understand operational control protocols.
• Report any suspension or potential suspension/revocation of FAA pilot or medical certificates to the Chief Pilot immediately.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by management as necessary.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
• Possession of a current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with an instrument rating and fulfillment of the company's total flight time requirements.
• First Class Medical Certificate.
• Preferred: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification for helicopters.
• Minimum 1500 hours as Pilot in Command on helicopters.
• At least 500 hours of cross-country flight experience.
• A minimum of 100 hours of night flight time.
• At least 75 hours of instrument flight time, including 15 hours specifically in helicopters.
• Valid passport for travel requirements.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit; frequently use hands, speak, and hear; occasionally stand, walk, reach, climb, or stoop. Must be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds. Visual abilities include close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment: Exposure to moderate noise levels is expected during operations.
