About the Organization

SOS Children's Villages Albania is a non-profit, humanitarian, non-political, and non-religious organization providing long-term care for children and youth who have lost their parents or cannot live with them for various reasons. It also supports children and families in need through projects aimed at capacity building.

Position Role

We are seeking a Financier based in Tirana who will be responsible for managing the financial administration of the Fundraising Department and the Shkodër Project. This role involves overseeing income and expenses, administering compensation schemes (including fundraising staff bonuses), and ensuring smooth financial operations. The position ensures compliance with Albanian legislation and organizational policies and supports management through financial reporting and analysis.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the financial performance of fundraising activities.
  • Plan and monitor budgets; analyze campaign costs and effectiveness.
  • Administer compensation and bonus schemes for fundraising staff.
  • Collaborate with teams for financial planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Shkodër project budget.
  • Manage cash flow, payments, and financial obligations related to the project.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for management.
  • Support procurement processes and resource management.
  • Maintain integrity of accounting records and financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Support audits and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience as a financier.
  • Experience in budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, and procurement procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of financial legislation and accounting standards.
  • Experience preparing tax declarations, payroll, and managing employee benefits.
  • Familiarity with bonus and incentive schemes highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and computer applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Previous experience in financial activities related to fundraising or marketing is an advantage.
  • High professional integrity, strong work ethics, and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.

  • Commitment to protect children from abuse, neglect, manipulation, violence, and discrimination.
  • Immediate reporting of any concerns, allegations, or incidents related to child safety.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and sharing information strictly on a need-to-know basis.
  • Promoting a culture of respect, dignity, trust, and accountability to prevent violations according to PSHEA.
  • Responsible use and protection of organizational assets in line with anti-fraud, anti-corruption guidelines, and financial regulations.
