Position Overview

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst role at MSR-FSR, LLC in Chandler, AZ, reporting directly to the CFO, focuses on delivering monthly financial reporting, budget preparation, financial data analysis, and insights to support executive decision-making. This part-time onsite position involves collaboration with accounting to ensure timely financial system closures and is supported by a part-time FP&A Manager.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and consolidate budgets by QuickBooks department and class, monitor actuals versus plans, and recommend necessary changes.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages using Centage Planning Maestro, summarizing key variances and offering actionable insights to leadership.
  • Compile monthly financial consolidations from trial balances across five international subsidiaries for the parent LLC.
  • Conduct variance analysis by examining discrepancies between actual and forecasted results, identifying root causes, and proposing recommendations.
  • Create and update financial models to simulate scenarios, assess risks, and assist in decision-making; maintain PDQM Excel model biannually with current labor and overhead data.
  • Coordinate quarterly fixed asset tracking with operations, updating construction in progress accounts, asset placements, depreciation schedules, and roll forward reports.
  • Support the Controller in various monthly financial closing activities.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for US employee benefits and self-billing functions; undertake additional reconciliations as required.
  • Assist in annual financial audits by fulfilling auditor requests and managing Prepared by Client (PBC) documentation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize financial operations and reporting accuracy including use of internal AI tools.
  • Assess financial risks and opportunities, recommending mitigations to management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ability to interpret complex financial information, identify patterns, and provide practical recommendations.
  • Proficient financial reporting and advanced Excel skills; skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experienced user of QuickBooks; familiarity with Centage or equivalent budgeting software preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail ensuring precision in reporting and modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Organized, dependable, capable of working independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled at multitasking under strict deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills fostering teamwork and trust.
  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Associate degree with equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in accounting or related financial roles.
