Job description

Role Overview

This fixed-term position extends for two years until August 2028 and is based in Auckland or Wellington. You will be an integral member of a collaborative team ensuring the consistent functioning of essential payment systems facilitating prompt transaction settlements among financial entities in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of NZClear, ESAS, and Corporate Actions services.
  • Execute operational tasks and transaction processing accurately within stipulated timeframes.
  • Perform system reconciliations and conduct vital operational verifications and controls.
  • Assist with system testing, rollout, and validation procedures.
  • Analyze operational issues, propose enhancements, and improve process efficiency.
  • Liaise closely with internal teams, participants, registries, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and uphold rigorous operational standards.
  • Provide occasional after-hours and on-call support as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience with the ESAS/NZClear system environment and associated dependencies.
  • Advanced competence in Microsoft Excel, including the use of macro-enabled spreadsheets.
  • Exceptional thoroughness and composure under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Effective teamwork and cooperative engagement.
  • A driven, proactive approach to work.
