Job description
Role Overview
Working under general supervision within the Academic Finance and Funds Flow team, this position applies accounting principles and techniques across various fiscal operations. Responsibilities cover accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, funds flow modeling, pro forma creation, and reconciliation activities supporting the physician enterprise and affiliated health systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with VP of Finance and operational leaders to develop the annual USFTGP budget.
- Create, compile, and deliver monthly financial reports to operational management.
- Develop and sustain cost allocation methods and calculations for financial clarity.
- Serve as a critical connection point between finance and departmental leaders regarding finance-related issues.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing financial performance through analysis and reporting.
- Prepare journal entries for accounting submissions in a timely fashion.
- Document financial methodologies and processes to ensure audit preparedness and compliance governance.
- Perform reconciliation analyses to verify financial data accuracy.
- Contribute to preparing and disseminating pro forma financial reports related to recruitment, program initiatives, and Service Outcome Cost proposals.
- Participate in process improvement projects, focusing on report standardization and automation.
Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Health Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in a financial, accounting, or decision support analyst role.
- Proven ability to conduct financial and economic analyses, forecasting, general ledger management, strategic planning, and financial data modeling.
Technical Skills and Abilities
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and database applications for analytical and reporting purposes.
- Expertise in financial reporting and data stewardship.
- Capability to analyze and interpret complex financial information effectively.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain precision in financial documents.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership skills to work with diverse teams.
Work Environment and Schedule
This position is based at the Tampa General Hospital main campus, with eligibility for hybrid remote work. The role operates on a Monday to Friday day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Compensation
The minimum annual salary for this role is $50,065.60.
