Job description

Role overview

Amazon MGM Studios is growing its global theatrical distribution business and is establishing a finance function to support international operations. This role offers the chance to help build the financial framework for a new business area while contributing to content that reaches audiences around the world.

In this position, you will support the theatrical expansion team by working closely with distribution and marketing groups on finance operations.

Work arrangement

This is a full-time, office-based position requiring presence in the CBD five days a week.

Key responsibilities

You will act as the local contact for Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay support, working across Distribution, Marketing, and Finance Operations teams. The role includes reviewing receivables performance, spotting trends and variances, and sharing territory-level insight on booking history, exhibitor relationships, and market conditions.

You will also help the Distribution/Sales team with theatre setup in the DEX system and enter Box Office Reports manually whenever automated feeds are not available. Another important part of the job is keeping data aligned between the DEX booking tool and downstream finance systems, while coordinating with the Cash Application team on payment mismatches.

In addition, you will monitor exhibitor accounts for credit concerns and other financial risk signals, raise issues to the relevant Distribution and Finance stakeholders, support month-end close and reconciliation work, and create training materials and knowledge-transfer documentation for local teams on Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay processes.

Team context

You will join the International Theatrical Finance team at Amazon MGM Studios, which is building the finance infrastructure for worldwide theatrical growth. The team combines Amazon’s scale with a focus on innovation, and the work has a direct impact on how global audiences experience content.

Benefits

  • Access to Amazon’s Dogs at Work program, which is designed to reduce stress and improve morale across Australian corporate offices.
  • Commuter support to help reduce the cost of daily travel.
  • Subsidised health insurance for you and your dependents, along with salary continuance (income protection) and life insurance.
  • An inclusive workplace that values diversity of background, experience, and perspective as a driver of innovation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in finance operations, shared services, accounts payable, accounts receivable or collections, or general ledger work.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools, CRM platforms such as Salesforce, and related business systems.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and functions.
  • Advanced Excel capability.
  • Strong analytical thinking, close attention to detail, and clear communication skills.
  • Experience handling several projects and priorities at once in a fast-moving, deadline-focused environment.
  • Preferred exposure to the entertainment industry.
