Overview
This contract opportunity is for a Financial Analyst focused on a retail banking portfolio within a major Canadian financial institution in Toronto. The role supports the Canadian Retail Banking line of business and works closely with senior leaders and legal entity specialists on portfolio oversight, financial modelling, and transformation work, including Anaplan migration. It offers exposure to strategic initiatives, collaboration with business stakeholders, and room to grow in a large global environment.
Compensation
The hourly pay range for this assignment is CAD 43.48 to CAD 52.17.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior management to interpret changes and apply updates to financial models.
- Maintain and refresh financial models as well as related data models.
- Carry out monthly rollovers, making sure data is loaded accurately and stays aligned with business needs.
- Review financial data to spot trends, variances, and quality issues.
- Create and revise PowerPoint presentations for business review meetings.
- Gather, organize, and process data to answer requests from different business teams.
- Handle routine investigations, build reports, and provide data from models and databases.
- Contribute to special initiatives such as process changes and cloud migration work tied to Anaplan.
- Remain flexible and help with tasks outside the core portfolio as needed.
Required Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field is required.
- Hands-on experience with financial modelling and data analysis is expected.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is important.
- Applicants should be comfortable with PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and Excel functions.
- A curious, investigative approach and solid problem-solving ability are needed.
- The ideal candidate is adaptable, proactive, and works well in a team setting.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn quickly are important.
- The role suits someone who can get up to speed fast and begin right away.
- About 3 or more years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Exposure to Power BI or SQL would be an advantage.
