Role Overview

We are seeking AML Analysts for a contract role based in Charlotte, North Carolina, focused on financial crimes compliance within a deadline-sensitive setting. Successful candidates will scrutinize transactional activities carefully, interpret complex data accurately, and uphold quality standards while managing a heavy workload. This role demands strong written reporting capabilities, sound decision-making, and a solid grasp of financial services regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties

  • Review transaction monitoring alerts to identify potential money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes.
  • Analyze customer profiles, account behavior, and transaction details to detect inconsistencies, emerging trends, and potential risks.
  • Perform initial alert evaluations and determine when escalation for deeper investigation is necessary.
  • Assess if cases warrant filing suspicious activity reports or related regulatory actions.
  • Handle a high volume of investigative tasks, consistently meeting productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Compile comprehensive case summaries explaining analyses, evidence, and conclusions.
  • Conduct research using internal and external resources to enhance due diligence and investigations.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards and internal compliance protocols throughout the investigative process.
  • Collaborate with compliance, risk, and financial crime teams to support monitoring and resolve case inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least three years of business experience in a professional environment.
  • Minimum one year of experience in compliance, risk, fraud, financial crimes, investigations, banking, or a closely related area.
  • Knowledge of AML and KYC regulations and financial crime compliance practices.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and risk-based decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written communication abilities to produce clear investigative documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis techniques including financial modeling, variance analysis, and data mining.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

The position is offered on a temporary contract basis at Robert Half in Charlotte, NC.
