Role overview

A well-established retail business with stores across Ireland and a strong e-commerce footprint is looking to hire a Financial Accountant. The position sits within a broad finance function and reports to the Head of Finance, offering wide exposure and involvement in business growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and handle month-end close work.
• Review financial data and provide management with clear analysis and insights.
• Oversee cash control activities and perform reconciliations.
• Take part in budgeting cycles and cash flow forecasting.
• Manage the year-end close and support the audit process.
• Handle tax submissions and statutory reporting obligations.
• Assess current processes and improve procedures, including finance systems.
• Guide and develop junior finance team members.
• Support finance transformation and other change projects.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant is a qualified accountant with experience in retail or FMCG, strong technical knowledge, and a practical, hands-on approach. The role also calls for someone who is commercially aware, highly analytical, and able to work toward results while communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
