Job description
Overview
A semi-state organisation that provides financial advisory support to the Irish Government is looking to add a Financial Accountant to its finance function through PE Global Recruitment. The role sits within an established public-sector/financial-services environment and offers broad exposure across reporting, controls, compliance, and stakeholder support.
Role summary
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position covers a wide mix of accounting and reporting work across several business areas. The successful candidate will contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting, statutory accounts, budgeting and forecasting, reconciliations, regulatory submissions, audit support, tax compliance, and continuous process improvement.
Key duties
- Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts and related financial reporting packs.
- Handle month-end close tasks, including general ledger review, journal processing, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare annual and interim financial statements in line with FRS 102.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting cycle, as well as regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist with tax return preparation and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Deliver financial analysis and advice to business stakeholders.
- Look for ways to strengthen reporting processes, controls, and overall efficiency.
Candidate profile
This opportunity is suited to a professionally qualified accountant with at least two years of post-qualification experience. A background in financial services or banking would be helpful, though it is not essential. Strong Excel capability, solid reporting skills, careful attention to detail, and clear communication are important for success in the role.
Additional information
Experience with ERP or general ledger platforms, such as Infor SunSystems, would be an advantage. Candidates should be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working collaboratively within a team.
Application and eligibility
Applicants must already have the correct visa to live and work in Ireland, as sponsorship is not available from the client. An updated CV is required for consideration.
