Financial Accountant Associate / Accountant / Senior

Overview

FedEx is looking to hire a meticulous Financial Accountant to oversee various Record-to-Report (RTR) operations including lease accounting, fixed assets management, cash handling, intercompany transactions, payroll, professional fees, and general ledger accounting. The candidate will ensure compliance with organizational policies while delivering accurate financial reports. This position demands strong numerical aptitude and effective coordination with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain precise recording of RTR-related transactions in the general ledger (GL).
• Supervise and validate Balance Sheet reconciliations and journal entry postings within established deadlines.
• Keep accurate records for designated GL accounts ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Analyze and address outstanding balance sheet items to guarantee timely resolution.
• Implement necessary updates to accounting processes.
• Work closely with teams across finance, ship-to-collect, clearance, and regional peers to standardize transaction treatments.
• Assist during audits by supplying documentation relevant to RTR functions.
• Develop reports and analyze open items related to RTR activities.
• Conduct numerical data validation to detect discrepancies and resolve process inefficiencies.
• Contribute to process enhancement projects and business optimization efforts.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong proficiency in numerical analysis with capability to interpret complex datasets.
• Deep understanding of financial accounting principles such as accruals, reconciliations, and revenue accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for performing calculations and reconciling data.
• Excellent communication abilities and stakeholder management competency.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work outputs.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent.
• Experience working with ERP software platforms like SAP or Oracle.
• Enthusiastic about learning and integrating new tools, applications, and generative AI technologies to boost efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous exposure to finance-related process management and improvement initiatives within corporate settings.
• Involvement in automation projects related to finance processes.
• Practical experience with Power BI and Power Query as an active user.
