Role overview
This is a one-time, paid consulting engagement for seasoned deal-desk finance and pricing professionals, or strategic finance partners who support commercial approvals. The assignment is part of a project for an AI marketplace and is structured as a contract-based interview rather than a permanent job.
The work is remote and limited to U.S.-based experts. No advance preparation is needed; the expectation is that you draw from your own hands-on experience.
Compensation and format
The estimated compensation is $130 per hour, prorated for a 30-minute task. The exact activity is a recorded AI-led video interview that takes about half an hour.
Participants manage their own schedule, use their own tools, and remain free to pursue other opportunities alongside this engagement.
What the interview covers
- How you evaluate non-standard deals, discounts, custom pricing, and the effect these choices have on margin.
- How you use approval matrices, thresholds, guardrails, SLAs, and escalation paths to route decisions.
- How you balance speed in deal processing with margin protection, financial risk, precedent control, and policy adherence.
- How you identify and track exceptions involving discount caps, margin floors, payment terms, legal terms, and revenue-recognition concerns.
- How you handle workflows across deal intake, pricing review, approval routing, exception tracking, SLA management, and post-approval governance.
Candidate profile
You should be able to describe your own process in detail, step by step, and answer follow-up questions with specific examples from real work rather than general theory.
Data and usage notice
After completion, your interview recording and transcript, together with AI-generated insights, will be shared with the internal research team and an AI lab partner. The material will be used to help build a structured task list for the profession and to improve AI models.
