Job description

Role summary

We are looking for a practical, technically capable Finance Manager to join the Dublin finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance (PCF-11), this is a wide-ranging and visible position within a regulated Payment Institution. You will take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, safeguarding oversight, regulatory submissions, policy development, and ongoing improvement of internal controls.

The role is suited to someone who likes managing the numbers end-to-end, improving processes, and working in a regulated financial services setting. The business operates in a fast-moving, high-volume, multi-currency payments environment, so strong control discipline and a hands-on approach are essential.

Financial reporting and control

  • Run the complete month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and explain key variances.
  • Keep balance sheet reconciliations fully controlled, including safeguarding, settlement, accruals, intercompany items, and multi-currency balances.
  • Make sure all reconciliations are clearly documented, reviewed, and ready for audit.
  • Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Oversee the full finance and accounts cycle across all core processes.
  • Ensure all revenue is captured correctly and investigate and fix discrepancies quickly.
  • Track cash flow, liquidity, and working capital needs.

Budgeting and financial planning

  • Support the annual budgeting cycle and gradually take full ownership of it in line with Group policy.
  • Create forecasts and compare actual performance against budget.
  • Provide analysis and insights that help senior leaders make informed decisions.
  • Assist with transfer pricing analysis and related reporting within the Group structure.

Safeguarding and regulatory support

  • Manage safeguarding reconciliations and settlement monitoring activities.
  • Assist with, and eventually own, regulatory submissions to the Central Bank of Ireland.
  • Keep supporting documentation and evidence aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Handle regulatory reporting from start to finish, including follow-up on remediation and corrective actions.
  • Support finance-related regulatory reviews, inspections, and audits.

Processes, systems, and controls

  • Create, maintain, and improve finance policies and procedures across payroll, procurement, accounting, settlements, and reporting.
  • Strengthen internal controls and improve the broader finance governance framework.
  • Build and maintain a strong control environment in a regulated payments or financial services business.
  • Monitor financial control indicators and help track relevant risk metrics.
  • Lead policy upgrades, policy improvements, and finance systems enhancement work.
  • Support finance transformation and automation initiatives that improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, and External Audit teams to ensure oversight and timely closure of findings.
  • Implement improvements identified through audits or internal reviews.
  • Support process enhancements linked to card payments and settlement operations.

Candidate profile

This role is intended for a qualified accountant with solid post-qualification experience and strong exposure to regulated financial services, fintech, or payments businesses. You should be comfortable working in a high-volume, multi-currency environment and have strong control, reporting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
