Job description

Role Overview

This position is built for a finance professional who wants their work to have a tangible business and social impact. The role focuses on turning financial data into strategy for the North America business, helping the company grow profitably while supporting cleaner products and healthier communities.

You will move beyond historical reporting and play a hands-on role in shaping future decisions. The work centers on financial clarity, leadership, and cross-functional partnership across sales, operations, supply chain, marketing, accounting, and global finance.

What You Will Drive

  • Convert complex financial information into clear guidance for growth, investment, and risk management.
  • Support better decision-making through forecasting, reporting, analysis, and business reviews.
  • Strengthen profitability by identifying margin, cost, working capital, and cash-flow opportunities.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy, financial discipline, and compliance across the North America business.
  • Partner with multiple teams to build a scalable operating cadence and support sustainable expansion.

First 30 Days

  • Hold 12 meetings with North America leadership and key partners across sales, operations, supply chain, marketing, accounting, and global finance to understand revenue drivers, margin structure, forecasting gaps, compliance needs, and current reporting routines.
  • Create a baseline assessment of North America financial performance covering revenue, gross margin, trade spend, inventory, operating expenses, cash flow, and the five biggest risks or opportunities affecting growth.
  • Set up the first monthly finance cadence, including reporting timelines, variance review structure, and stakeholder review steps, with reports delivered within 3 business days after month-end close.

First 60 Days

  • Develop and own a rolling 12-month North America forecast model that includes revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, working capital, and at least 3 scenario-planning cases.
  • Introduce a finance dashboard for 3 core stakeholders covering sales by channel/customer, gross margin, trade spend, inventory, cash conversion, operating expenses, and budget-versus-actual results.
  • Spot 3 improvement opportunities in margin, cost, or working capital and present a ranked action plan with estimated financial impact, ownership, and timeline.

First 90 Days

  • Present a North America financial strategy and operating plan that connects budget, forecast, investment priorities, compliance requirements, and growth objectives into a single execution roadmap.
  • Implement a monthly forecast and business review process with sales, operations, and leadership, with the goal of improving forecast accuracy by 30% versus the initial baseline.
  • Deliver a 90-day impact summary showing KPI movement, reduced risks, captured opportunities, compliance gains, and the next 2-quarter roadmap for finance-led performance improvement.

Skills and Working Style

The ideal candidate is comfortable challenging assumptions in a constructive way, translating numbers into practical decisions, and building trust with people who are not finance specialists. You should be able to listen carefully, ask strong questions, and communicate insights clearly so teams can act with confidence.

This role also requires comfort in fast-changing, cross-functional environments where data may be imperfect and priorities can shift. Strong judgment, curiosity, collaboration, and disciplined thinking are essential.

Technical Requirements

You should bring experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, reporting, compliance, risk management, and business performance analysis. Strong capability in advanced Excel or Google Sheets, financial reporting tools, ERP/accounting systems, dashboards, and data interpretation is important.

Experience in consumer goods, retail, ecommerce, CPG, sustainability-focused brands, inventory-based businesses, trade spend analysis, supply chain finance, or North America market expansion will help you contribute quickly. The role also requires the ability to connect revenue, margin, operating expense, cash flow, inventory, and compliance into practical financial strategy.

Experience and Education

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. An MBA or CPA is considered an advantage. You should have at least 5 years of relevant financial management experience and be comfortable working remotely across functions and time zones.

You must be able to manage budgeting and forecasting processes, analyze market trends, support local and global financial compliance, and operate with strong accountability in a growing consumer products business. Experience in consumer goods, sustainability, personal care, oral care, retail, ecommerce, or mission-driven brands is strongly preferred.

About the Company

The Humble Co. develops eco-friendly oral care products that are designed to be effective, simple, and sustainable. Founded in Sweden in 2013 with a bamboo toothbrush that replaced plastic without sacrificing quality, the brand now offers products such as toothpaste and floss and is trusted in more than 70 countries. Its products are vegan-certified, responsibly made, and created with performance in mind.

Every purchase supports SmileOnU™, a program that helps deliver care, confidence, and healthier smiles to underserved communities. The company is part of Humble Group, an entrepreneurial FMCG group focused on growing small and medium-sized businesses in fast-moving consumer goods.

Core Values

  • Innovation: The company values fresh ideas, experimentation, and a test-and-learn mindset.
  • Entrepreneurship: Initiative, ownership, and self-starting behavior are encouraged.
  • Integrity: Honesty, openness, respect, and strong ethics are expected.
  • Passion: Curiosity, continuous learning, excellence, and agile execution are highly valued.

Application Instructions

Interested candidates are asked to share a resume and respond thoughtfully to three questions: what motivated them to apply, what they believe they are capable of achieving, and how they can best be contacted for a conversation during the week. Responses are expected to be original and considered carefully.

Additional Notes

The role emphasizes personal and professional growth, strategic impact, and contributing to a business that combines financial performance with purpose. A meaningful, long-term contribution to the North America business is the central expectation.
