About the Role
We are looking for a strategic and dynamic Finance Manager to oversee the comprehensive financial and accounting operations of a manufacturing factory. This role involves ownership of budget planning, tax compliance, and financial risk mitigation, alongside enforcing stringent cost control measures throughout the business activities. The ideal candidate is someone who excels under pressure and is passionate about enhancing systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end accounting processes including General Ledger management, cost accounting, and monthly closing to ensure complete data accuracy.
- Develop, refine, and maintain financial systems and internal controls aligned with corporate policies and New Zealand legal requirements.
- Ensure adherence to New Zealand tax regulations, manage cash flow effectively, and conduct bank reconciliations.
- Lead annual budgeting efforts and provide detailed variance analysis to support executive leadership decisions.
- Collaborate closely with production and sales teams to implement cost reduction strategies and continuously improve cost control frameworks.
- Manage relationships with external auditors (e.g., Deloitte), banking institutions (BOC, ICBC, Citi, HSBC), and regulatory bodies.
- Drive digital transformation by implementing financial IT solutions such as SAP or U9 to automate processes and reduce inefficiencies.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 5 to 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 2 years working within New Zealand.
- Proven experience in large-scale manufacturing sectors, preferably FMCG, Food, or Dairy industries.
- Specialized knowledge in cost accounting modules, with a successful track record of spearheading cost reduction initiatives.
- Familiarity with financial systems like Express, U9, or SAP, with direct experience in system deployment and upgrades highly regarded.
- Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting alongside professional accounting certifications.
Language & Soft Skills
- Proficiency in English is essential; bilingual abilities in Mandarin are a plus but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated decisive leadership, excellent interpersonal communication, accountability, and the ability to operate effectively under demanding conditions.
- Strong digital mindset with initiative to recognize workflow inefficiencies and propose technical or digital improvements.
