The Finance Manager / Finance Director will own the organization’s financial direction, making sure financial planning, control, and analysis support stability, efficiency, and long-term expansion. This position sits close to leadership and contributes to high-level business decisions and corporate planning.
Key responsibilities
The role involves building and maintaining financial plans, budgets, and forward-looking forecasts that align with company goals. It also includes tracking financial outcomes, preparing management-level reports, and reviewing critical financial metrics to guide operational and strategic choices.
A major part of the job is financial planning and analysis, including profitability reviews, expense control, cash flow assessment, capital allocation, and investment evaluation. The position is expected to spot risks and opportunities and recommend actions that strengthen financial performance and business efficiency.
This role also safeguards financial governance by maintaining internal controls, applying accounting policies, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. It supports audit activities, protects reporting accuracy, and drives improvements in financial processes.
Close coordination with executive leaders, department heads, and outside stakeholders is required to keep financial strategy aligned with wider business priorities. The position may also lead finance transformation work such as automation, system enhancements, and reporting improvements to increase accuracy and productivity.
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in corporate finance, financial management, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. They should be capable of shaping and executing finance strategies that support organizational growth.
Hands-on knowledge of financial modeling, ERP platforms, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and business intelligence systems is important. Experience with finance system rollouts and process optimization would be an added advantage.
Strong capability is needed in cash flow management, capital budgeting, investment appraisal, internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance. The role also requires sharp analytical thinking, strategic judgment, and the ability to turn complex data into practical recommendations for leadership.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to influence decisions, work across teams, and present financial information clearly.
