Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all finance-related activities to prepare for an initial public offering (IPO) targeting a U.S. stock exchange.
- Develop and implement comprehensive IPO readiness strategies aligned with regulatory guidelines and timelines.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including investment banks, auditors, legal counsel, tax experts, and regulatory advisors during the IPO process.
- Enhance and establish internal financial governance, reporting structures, and controls necessary for operating as a publicly listed company.
- Serve as the company's specialist on U.S. and Singapore financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Create and uphold financial compliance frameworks in accordance with SEC regulations, U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and Singapore standards where relevant.
- Lead and manage financial filings and regulatory disclosures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist legal and compliance teams with financial regulatory audits, reviews, and due diligence.
- Provide strategic financial analyses and advice to support fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, investments, and other financing initiatives.
- Develop financial models, evaluate valuations, and prepare investor-facing documentation and presentations for the board.
- Support and lead negotiations with investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with external parties including investors, auditors, legal advisors, regulators, and investment banks.
- Work closely with the CEO and senior management on financial strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate efforts cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Tax, Treasury, and Corporate Development departments.
- Implement best practices for financial governance and ensure the company’s readiness as a public entity.
- Provide expert advice on complex accounting, regulatory challenges, and compliance matters.
- Identify potential financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Act as the internal authority on financial reporting, disclosure obligations, and stay current with regulatory developments.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalents are highly preferred.
- At least 8 years of advancing leadership experience in finance roles.
- Strong preference for candidates who have led U.S. IPO executions.
- Experience with publicly listed companies involved in IPO planning or public company readiness is also considered valuable.
- Background in capital markets activities including capital raising, investor relations, or corporate finance is desirable.
