Role Overview
In this Finance Business Partner position, you will join a finance function that is central to enabling GovTech’s mission. You will act as a trusted adviser to division leaders and senior stakeholders, combining financial discipline with the ability to convert complex numbers into practical recommendations that support better decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
You will oversee the full financial planning and performance management cycle for one or more major divisions or programmes, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in line with the organisation’s planning schedule. You will work closely with division leaders and senior management to assess business cases, review financial sustainability, and guide resource allocation decisions.
You will also carry out scenario analysis, turn financial information into clear business narratives, and provide recommendations that support decisions at both operational and strategic levels. In addition, you will partner programme teams to monitor spending, track milestones, highlight financial risks early, and advise users on financial queries.
The role also involves improving financial processes, systems, and internal controls within assigned divisions, including supporting cost-saving and efficiency initiatives. You will handle month-end and year-end closing activities, budget allocations and virements, and analysis of variances and operational metrics to generate useful insights.
Other duties include preparing revenue and expense accruals, managing grant recovery work, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and public-sector financial regulations, and taking on additional tasks or projects as needed to support the finance team and wider organisation.
Requirements
Applicants should hold a degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline, together with a professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent certification. A minimum of 5 years of relevant finance experience is required, with proven experience in finance business partnering.
You should have strong analytical ability and be able to interpret and present financial information in a clear, concise way. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is expected, along with familiarity with dashboarding tools.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills are important, especially the ability to engage and influence stakeholders who do not come from a finance background. You should also be comfortable working independently and handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced and complex environment.
Benefits and Culture
GovTech is an equal opportunity employer that values inclusion and a wide range of perspectives, recognising diversity as a driver of innovation. The organisation provides a holistic, market-competitive rewards package that includes leave benefits to support work-life needs and employee wellness programmes.
Flexible work arrangements are supported where the role allows, with trust placed in employees to manage their own time and deliver strong results in the way that works best for them.
