Finance Analyst - Middle East, Africa & India (6-Month Fixed Term)

Role Summary

We seek a highly driven Finance Analyst for a 6-month fixed-term maternity cover within our regional Finance team. This role supports financial planning, reporting, and business analysis for the Middle East, Africa, and India regions. The successful candidate will provide precise financial reporting, budget and forecast monitoring, performance analysis, and collaborate closely with Commercial, Marketing, and Operations teams to facilitate strategic decisions. Regular interaction with senior leadership including the Finance & Supply Chain Director and Regional GMs is expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making by examining data, performance indicators, and trends to deliver actionable business insights.
• Collaborate in the preparation of annual budgets and semi-annual forecasts, partnering with department heads to understand business demands and develop reliable projections.
• Track financial results versus budgets and forecasts to investigate variances, highlighting concerns and potential improvements.
• Contribute to the generation of monthly financial reports for leadership, focusing on critical metrics, trends, and risk areas.
• Conduct cost analysis across departments to identify optimization opportunities and enhance operational efficiency.
• Oversee month-end closing processes, including preparation of monthly P&L statements, ensuring data accuracy, proper accounting entries, provision creation, journal postings, and post-close performance reviews with marketing teams.
• Undertake special projects and ad hoc analytical tasks as directed by management.
• Maintain and update the pricing master file in alignment with commercial teams and communicate changes globally; troubleshoot and rectify pricing discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
• Review and validate invoice coding for Gross-To-Net (GTN) invoices, Business Area charges, and logistics invoices to guarantee correct ledger postings.
• Approve marketing expenditure purchase orders with appropriate coding and authorize team travel requests in adherence with policies and budgets.
• Promote the effective use and optimization of ERP and financial software systems to advance accuracy and efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience of more than 5 years in a finance analyst role within consumer goods industries, preferably cosmetics.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical capabilities coupled with commercial insight.
• Fluent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills capable of engaging with multicultural teams across hierarchies.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage concurrent tasks and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to thrive in high-speed work environments with resilience and determination.
