Job description

About Traeger, Inc.

Traeger invented the wood pellet grill over 30 years ago and has continued to revolutionize outdoor cooking ever since. We are a passionate team of innovators, problem solvers, and food enthusiasts dedicated to uniting people through flavorful outdoor cooking experiences. From our Salt Lake City headquarters and beyond, we are committed to delivering exemplary service to our customers, retail partners, and employees.

Role Overview

We are searching for a Field Sales Representative based in Texas to join one of our key markets. This dynamic, hands-on in-store position involves building relationships with dealers and store staff, increasing product sell-in orders, and making Traeger the dominant brand in your designated market. This role offers a solid foundation for developing field sales expertise within the outdoor cooking industry and growing alongside a brand that enjoys strong customer passion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spend majority of your time actively engaging on the retail floor, targeting Platinum, Gold, and key accounts such as Ace Hardware and specialty dealers.
  • Strengthen partnerships by appearing regularly at retail locations, conducting pre-call planning and post-call recaps to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Present new products, seasonal offerings, and promotional campaigns to secure orders and enhance Traeger's retail shelf presence.
  • Manage account assortments strategically, oversee inventory levels to ensure smooth product flow, and plan quarterly and annual financial targets.
  • Expand distribution incrementally without cannibalizing existing accounts, boosting Traeger's footprint within the territory.
  • Provide extensive retailer training, empowering store employees with product knowledge to confidently represent Traeger at the point of sale.
  • Identify and mentor key store employees to champion Trager’s brand experience.
  • Lead and support in-store events, weekend activations, and demonstrations during peak sales seasons.
  • Ensure merchandising is best-in-class by utilizing Traeger’s POP materials and fixtures, maintaining fully stocked and visually appealing displays.
  • Develop cooperative marketing plans with managers and key accounts to elevate the brand at the retail level.
  • Keep abreast of local consumer trends and competitor activities to uncover new market opportunities.
  • Maintain full CRM compliance to manage pipelines, account information, and territory scheduling effectively.
  • Report to a Regional Field Sales Manager and collaborate cross-functionally to meet dealer needs.

Qualifications

  • Between 1 and 3 years of experience in field sales, territory sales, or retail account management, preferably within consumer goods, outdoor/hardlines, or sporting goods sectors.
  • Proven success in driving retail sell-in by engaging with buyers and managers to secure orders.
  • Comfortable spending most of the workweek traveling within Texas and engaging directly with retail locations; this is not an office-based role.
  • Excellent verbal communication and strong relationship-building skills, capable of confidently presenting to store managers, buyers, and staff.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, able to independently manage multiple accounts without detailed supervision.
  • Track record of achieving sales targets consistently.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to undertake frequent overnight travel throughout Texas.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to lift items over 50 pounds regularly.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but equivalent sales experience is also accepted; we value proven achievements over credentials.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a pioneering company transforming the outdoor cooking industry.
  • Work within a collaborative team united by shared goals.
  • Engage in a culture fostering innovation, risk-taking, and commitment to quality.
  • Enjoy abundant food-related perks.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits tailored to your needs.
  • 401(k) retirement plan to support long-term financial planning.
  • Tuition reimbursement and professional development programs focused on your growth.
  • Employee discounts on all Traeger products.
