Role Overview

The Field Sales Representative for the Army focusing on the Northeast region will cultivate and maintain customer relationships by delivering innovative, mission-critical products and procurement options aimed at resolving client challenges. Responsibilities include identifying and managing sales prospects, account relations, and end-user contacts within assigned departments and agencies. The role demands developing and executing a sales and geographic strategy with guidance from the Director of Army Field Sales. Daily interactions with customers will be maintained through face-to-face meetings and other communication channels, handling orders, price quotes, product info, demonstrations, and general inquiries. The ideal candidate must adeptly prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently, while exemplifying professionalism and a positive, proactive attitude.

Core Responsibilities

  • Surpass quarterly and annual sales revenue and profit targets.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with customers and vendors, expanding opportunities within assigned and new markets as necessary.
  • Maintain and report weekly sales pipelines including leads, quotes, and orders.
  • Collaborate with customers to define requirements for upcoming bids and contract proposals related to equipment and services.
  • Travel to client sites and attend industry events to foster new sales possibilities.
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence concerning competitors, opportunities, and threats.
  • Provide accurate price quotations, credit terms, warranties, and delivery schedules.
  • Utilize CRM and ERP software to process sales quotes and orders effectively.
  • Support inside sales team by generating quotes and identifying funding sources.
  • Recommend products suited to customer needs and preferences.
  • Perform administrative tasks including report preparation, sales record maintenance, and timely expense reporting.
  • Engage in product development feedback with customer professionals to enhance performance.
  • Efficiently handle quote processing received through various communication channels.
  • Devise marketing strategies to generate new sales leads within the region.
  • Implement coordinated inside and outside sales strategies covering customer relations, vendor management, and dealer record management.
  • Communicate effectively with management, staff, customers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Assume full ownership of the customer sales process.
  • Maintain a detailed calendar tracking client meetings, travel, and sales pipeline activities.

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of government sales and federal contracting protocols.
  • Experience collaborating with Department of Defense, Military, Federal Agencies, and Law Enforcement entities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Strong negotiation skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Security clearance eligibility is necessary if mandated.
  • Bachelor's degree with three years of sales experience, or a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience as an alternative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Salesforce, web research, and familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite is advantageous.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Primarily office-based work complemented by frequent client meetings in various settings.
  • Administrative tasks can be performed from a personal home office.
