Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned sales leader for the role of Field Sales Manager overseeing the Lower South Island region, preferably based in Dunedin. This permanent, full-time position requires leadership of Territory Managers to enhance sales performance, expand market share, and ensure exceptional execution across retail and hospitality sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team of Territory Managers.
  • Implement and drive channel, customer, and brand strategies throughout the Lower South Island.
  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular in-field coaching to elevate capabilities and sales effectiveness.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to increase volume, market share, revenue, and profitability.
  • Manage customer contracts, promotional budgets, and business review processes.
  • Promote a workplace culture that prioritizes safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Support succession planning and the professional growth of upcoming sales talent.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in sales, preferably within FMCG or similar industries.
  • Strong skills in coaching and team development.
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing abilities.
  • Commercially astute with a focus on achieving tangible results.
  • Experience working within retail and/or hospitality sales channels.
  • Effective at planning, prioritizing, and executing business strategies.
  • Preferred tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or related fields.
  • Must hold a valid New Zealand driver’s license.
  • Legal authorization to work in New Zealand is mandatory.
