About the company
SumUp builds practical financial tools designed to help small business owners manage and grow their operations. The company works with a founder-led mindset and a collaborative, team-focused culture, bringing together diverse teams across Europe, South America, and the United States to support merchants worldwide.
Role overview
In this in-house field sales position, you will connect with local businesses, understand their needs, and show how SumUp’s products can add value to their day-to-day operations. You will present tailored solutions from a broad product range and act as a dependable advisor for merchants.
The team is looking for motivated sales professionals who are driven by results and have a strong history of meeting or surpassing targets. The aim is to help more business owners succeed, and this role plays an important part in that mission.
Key duties
- Prospect and approach high-potential businesses within your assigned territory, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Run persuasive in-person meetings and product demos to highlight the benefits of SumUp’s card readers and POS offerings.
- Explain the product value clearly, handle questions and objections confidently, and tailor the conversation to each client’s needs.
- Build a healthy sales pipeline through outreach, referrals, networking, and other lead-generation activities.
What makes someone successful in this role
- Previous success in field sales, preferably in hospitality, retail, or another point-of-sale environment.
- A proven ability to consistently outperform targets and deliver strong sales results.
- Excellent verbal communication and people skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships.
- Strong knowledge of the local market and genuine interest in helping small and medium-sized businesses.
- Experience with outbound prospecting, cold calling, and pipeline development.
Why join SumUp
- Be part of a global technology business with more than 3,000 employees from 93 nationalities across 22 offices in Europe, Latin America, and the United States.
- Get the opportunity to shape your own career path while contributing to the future of small businesses.
- Enjoy regular team breakfasts, social events, office celebrations, and sports activities.
- Receive a personal learning and development budget for conferences and external training.
- Benefit from a competitive compensation package, 28 days of paid leave, a sabbatical programme, employee referral support, mental health assistance, and fitness and language-learning benefits.
