Position Overview
This contract role involves ensuring compliance with federal regulations related to sponsored research grants across agencies like NSF, NIH, and DoD. The specialist will serve as a key resource in managing post-award federal grant requirements and responding to audits.
Core Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply intricate federal regulatory frameworks and policies governing sponsored research initiatives.
- Manage post-award compliance activities ensuring alignment with federal funding agency requirements.
- Prepare detailed documentation and responses in reaction to federal audits and inquiries.
- Engage with various institutional stakeholders to identify compliance risks and establish corrective measures.
- Create, refresh, and deliver educational materials and guidance on grant compliance practices for internal teams.
- Keep abreast of regulatory updates and revise internal processes to maintain adherence to changing guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven expertise in managing federal grant post-award processes with agencies such as NSF, NIH, or DoD.
- Experience handling federal audit responses in research-intensive academic or institutional environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills capable of addressing both technical and layperson audiences.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and related federal compliance standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational ability, and analytical proficiency.
Additional Information
- Contract position paying between $52 and $98 per hour.
- Commitment ranges from 10 to 40 hours per week working remotely within the United States.
