FCL Despatcher - Timaru

About the Role

Join Visy Logistics as a full-time FCL (Full Container Load) Despatcher based in Timaru, Canterbury. You will play a pivotal support role to maintain the smooth operation of our container and general freight movement across New Zealand's logistics network.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the transport team by addressing daily operation queries and providing timely customer updates.
• Liaise with customers and carriers regarding shipment delays, modifications, and status updates.
• Handle invoicing and reconcile vendor bills to ensure accurate financial processing.
• Maintain compliance tasks including fatigue management documentation, logbook organization, and system alert management.
• Update and manage operational systems by processing alerts and ensuring correctness of orders and notifications.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure data accuracy and standardize procedures.
• Develop strong connections with customers, drivers, and subcontractors.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by streamlining administrative processes and identifying efficiency enhancements.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in full container load despatch or administrative roles within transport or wharf cartage sectors.
• Good understanding of NZTA fatigue regulations and Chain of Responsibility compliance requirements.
• Competency in transport management systems such as Cargowise, with solid operational logistics knowledge.
• Proven experience in invoicing, billing, and reconciliation activities.
• Excellent organization and time management capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work with flexibility and maintain composure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

Standard schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work required; shifts commence at 5:00 AM.
