Fashion Stylist Assistant — Wardrobe Sourcing & Styling Support

About the Role

This is a part-time remote opportunity for a stylist assistant who can help a personal stylist and image coach source wardrobe pieces for clients and assemble cohesive outfit ideas. The lead stylist will define each client’s style direction, including color palette, silhouettes, proportions, and must-have items, and you will turn that brief into real product options found online.

The work goes beyond basic product lookup. It calls for a strong visual sense and a practical understanding of color harmony, fit, body shapes, and how individual garments work together. In some cases you will receive a detailed shopping list to execute; in others you will be given a broader style direction and expected to contribute your own ideas.

The main purpose of the role is to take research-heavy sourcing work off the stylist’s plate so more time can be spent on strategy and client service. For the right person, this can become a long-term role with room to expand.

What You’ll Do

• Find specific wardrobe items based on detailed client briefs, such as a longer A-line skirt in a muted earth tone or long-sleeve knitwear in a defined color palette.
• Use a retailer and brand list provided by the stylist, mainly drawn from US-based stores, while also identifying suitable alternatives elsewhere when needed.
• Pull together complete outfits by filling wardrobe gaps with pieces that match in color, proportion, and overall style.
• Create moodboards that communicate a client’s direction and the outfit concepts being proposed.
• Offer styling ideas when requested, rather than only completing assigned tasks.
• Keep sourcing organized across several clients and present options clearly, including links, images, and short notes explaining why each item fits.

What the Role Requires

• Training or prior experience as a stylist, supported by a resume, portfolio, or examples of relevant work.
• A solid understanding of color theory, body shapes, proportions, and garment fit.
• Creative judgment and a clear point of view about what works and why.
• The ability to follow a detailed brief accurately, while also contributing thoughtfully when broader input is invited.
• Strong online sourcing ability, including the skill to search efficiently and uncover options beyond the most obvious results.

Hours, Pay, and Growth

The position begins as part-time work at roughly 10–15 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase hours as the client roster grows. Compensation is experience-based, and the applicant is expected to share their desired rate. The stylist is open to paying well for strong expertise. This is intended as a long-term role, with performance-based raises and a year-end bonus for the right fit.
