Position Overview
Join Firefly's Early Childhood Programs in Council Bluffs, IA, as a Family Support Specialist, partnering with families to foster optimal child development through education, coaching, and resource coordination.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage between 17.80 and 20.25 dollars
- Full-time employment with flexibility in scheduling

Role Responsibilities
- Provide educational support and coordinate resources for families
- Assist caregivers with activities that promote child development
- Conduct developmental screenings for enrolled children
- Facilitate families' access to essential community services
- Maintain thorough documentation of client interactions and program results
- Support processes related to enrollment and eligibility
- Engage in community outreach initiatives
- Encourage positive interactions between caregivers and children
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, an associate degree, or completed relevant college coursework
- Previous experience working directly with children and families
- Excellent communication abilities
- Valid driver's license for travel as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Parenting Assessment Tool (PAT) Certification
- Fluency in Spanish (additional hourly compensation of 2 dollars offered)
- Experience within human services disciplines
