Internship Overview

This paid internship provides hands-on experience allowing participants to apply academic knowledge while contributing to Excel's success. The program adopts a hybrid model with interns spending around three days per week working onsite in the New York office. Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.

Intern Expectations

  • Commit to working between 24 and 29.9 hours weekly throughout the semester.
  • Engage primarily with a designated division, while also gaining exposure to other departments through lunch and learn sessions.
  • Work office hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, or as scheduled with their advisor.
  • Coordinate in-office days based on advisor availability.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have completed junior year of undergraduate studies (senior college standing), or
  • Be currently enrolled in a graduate program, or
  • Hold a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree.
  • Available to work under 30 hours weekly and report to the New York office approximately three days per week.

Brand Marketing Intern Responsibilities

  • Support the Brand Marketing team by conducting research and contributing to brainstorming sessions aimed at creating client market opportunities.
  • Assist with managing client deliverables through data uploading and tracking processes.
  • Handle confidential client projects alongside the team.
  • Gain insight into the planning and coordination involved in marketing events and client appearances.
  • Learn negotiation and execution related to marketing contracts and engagements.
  • Understand pitching processes to attract new brands and clients.
  • Develop skills for building and maintaining strong client relationships to enhance partnerships and create new opportunities.
  • Contribute to sponsorship activation, hospitality, and marketing initiative brainstorming.
  • Assist in generating creative event branding, collateral, and onsite materials.
  • Create and maintain planning tools such as rooming lists, confirmation documents, food and beverage schedules, and transportation manifests.
  • Conduct research and analysis to deepen industry knowledge and provide recommendations.
  • Support daily operations managing Brand Marketing clients and sponsorship activation efforts across brand, property, and agency partners.
  • Assist in developing consumer engagement strategies and creative platforms for current and future sponsorships.
  • Help coordinate client-vendor relations and ensure activation deliverables meet client needs.
  • Create activation briefs, event recaps, itineraries, and staffing plans.
  • Assist in organizing and supporting client status calls, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and maintaining documentation.
  • Collaborate with teammates to deliver exceptional client service and uphold agency standards.
  • Access mentorship and industry advice from Excel’s team.
  • Occasionally contribute to projects outside the Brand Marketing group for broader exposure.

Compensation and Legal Information

This position offers an hourly wage of $17.00, compliant with applicable salary transparency laws. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
