Role Summary

This position is for a dependable and flexible Technical Operative who will support facilities activity across several regional offices and depots in the western and northern areas. The role focuses on keeping assigned sites safe, compliant, and running efficiently through general maintenance and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on a range of building systems and equipment.
  • Complete general upkeep tasks, including basic repairs and routine facility maintenance.
  • Spot problems early, resolve issues where possible, and escalate when needed.
  • Assist with minor works, repairs, and general site maintenance.
  • Deliver work to a high standard of safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Keep service logs, job records, and compliance paperwork accurate and up to date.
  • Travel between regional offices and depots as required to support operations.
  • Work closely with site teams and stakeholders to reduce disruption to day-to-day activity.
  • Follow all health and safety rules, including permit processes and risk assessments.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar practical hands-on role.
  • Ability to carry out general building maintenance and repair work.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Full, clean driving licence, as regional travel is required.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience using CMMS or other work management systems.
  • Familiarity with general building systems and routine maintenance work.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety rules and compliance standards.

  • Maintain a strong safety-first approach in all work undertaken or overseen.
